Stupid recording question

Hi guys, thanks for the great, helpful community here
I have a simple question but due to the fact I’ve never done that before I have no idea how.
I have a Macbook Pro and I would like to record the audio of my OP-Z into Logic Pro. If I connect the OP-Z out with the headphone jack (which is also an audio in) Logic of course sees that as an output and not an input. How do I record my OP-Z. Or is it possible to record the output of the OP-Z via USB A to C cable?
I am really no noob when it comes to music making but all my music has been created inside the Macbook/iPad so far, so I never had to connect a device to my MacBook. I feel really stupid at this moment haha

Thanks a lot in advance
Glenn

Do you have an audio interface? Run the z (from the headphone out) to input 1 of your audio interface. Then change the input source of your audio track in Logic to input 1 of your audio interface. Then you should be good to go.

And if you don’t have an audio interface, get one! They aren’t expensive nowadays.

As the previous comment said, you need an audio interface. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone recording through a macbook 3.5mm jack, if you even can…

Older macbook pro models allowed the headphone output to be switched to an input, I think… but I think that stopped with the introduction of the retina models maybe? I may be totally wrong.

As others have mentioned, a cheap audio interface will do. Even something like a behringer uca222 should be fine.

the input on the MacBooks are actually pretty nice.
i have an old 2008 MBP and u can record up to 24bit 96kHz w/ it
and it actually sounds pretty damn good for what u might expect.
not any worse than a cheap interface thats for sure

if your MBP can switch the function of the jack
this looks like a decent guide for how to
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/record-through-your-macbooks-headphone-jack/

if its a TRRS type of situation, then there are adapters out there
that split the output and input into 2 separate plugs
so u can use both at the same time

Well today I learned my mac can record through the headphone jack. Holy cow.
Your link should answer OP’s question then I think.
