Steeezo's vids on instagram question

I’m a big fan of Steezeo’s OP1 vids on Instagram. Very quick question though: does anyone know how he gets the “bass shake” effect on his videos that happen in time with the kick drum? I’ve tried googling this but have come up with all other kinds of techniques except the one I’m looking for. i’ve also tried just about every video editor within the App store and can’t quite work it out in a simple manner. Any pointers?

For those that don’t know what I’m talking about, essentially the audio track is affecting the video feed. Seems so simple!

maybe the bass is actually shaking the camera causing the visual vibration.

i know if i just nudge my phone while it is recording video it will vibrate out.

Link ?

Big ass sub? There is an “earthquake” Indonesia versions of final cut

I’d like to know tho

Pretty sure it’s just a tripod on top of a speaker. Some friends of mine set up a little iphone tripod on a table during their hip hop show and the same effect happened.

yeah I always just assumed he had the tripod really close to a big sub or something…

Did you try asking them?

… please ?

neat. I wonder if a tripod would shake enough>? maybe its also suspended in a spring configuration gimble style thingy. It seems like they are also holding the tripod/camera as you can see it move before the music starts.

yeah not sure if the tripod theory checks out as sometimes he seems to be holding the camera. And usually if you have the subs up that high to shake a camera the sound would be completely overblown as well, but his vids are pretty crisp!

He uses this app:

• Realism: the ORIGINAL and BEST app for simulating old videotape recordings
• Change the on-screen date so people think you're way younger--or older--than you really are
• Create custom F*L*A*S*H*I*N*G titles for the ultimate in on-screen cheese
• Phony zoom lens feature dramatically enhances the cheese factor
• Mess up the picture during recording using your finger or by shaking your device
• Don't think we forgot to make things sound bad--we didn't
• Widescreen recording option (but would you REALLY want to use it?)
• Easily share videos from within the app or through Camera Roll
• Built-in clip viewer for playing back, deleting and sharing clips
• Choose your frame rate: 24, 25 or 30
• HD video recording on iPhone 4s and newer devices (1080p requires iPhone 5 or better)

Just copped it, haha

I was thinking the device would be hooked into a mixer and running to camera, but then is using a monitor or something to listen while he plays live…so it wouldn’t get picked up in the video. Again, I have no idea what he actually does, just making a guess.

I asked him like one year ago and he told me that it’s just the ordinary iPhone camera and high volume. I have tried it, but couldn’t get that same effect…

Still nobody having any ideas?
