op-1 drum utility layout

hello,

i’m wondering if there is a standard layout for drums with the op-1 drum kits, and/or the drum utility that people tend to use.
sorry if this has been asked before! feel free to link me to another thread if applicable; i couldn’t find one.

thank you!

There is indeed. It’s described in the OP-1 user manual.

Personally I find it useful to create little groups, dividing the keyboard into 3 or 4 minimalist kits.
Usually I’ll place snares and cymbals on the black keys and kicks and percussion on the white keys. If I can play a beat with one hand easily then I’m happy with a kit.

Sometimes I like to build kits with lower bit rate sampled breaks on every 5th key, then pitch them down and chop them into individual hits. This is great for lofi breakbeat and boombap style beats.

This actually sounds pretty good I hope it becomes a standard for boombap kits.
