I’m 10000% sure they used the OP-1 only as a prop.
if you sample anything and get it down to a tiny grain size in the synth sampler it sounds very similar to the main synth part. the intro of the video shows them shortening the tape and getting that classic op1 grain sound through another means. Its a staple sound from the op1 imo.
I first saw this video and became utterly obsessed with the OP-1, wondering whether it was a real, functioning, commercially available synth and whether I would be able to afford it if it was. I then found out it DID exist and also found out that I couldn’t really afford it at the time. But I bought it anyway. Best purchase I ever made!

I reckon hd started the track on op1 and then finished it elsewhere.
