Otherwise, try plugging in a long cable with nothing attached on the other end. That might work just as well.

it does ! my headphones get way better signal then the original antenna 
you can plug any cable into any of the two inputs and it acts as an antenna, save your $2, headphones into audio out are just fine for radio reception.
I second everyone here, an aux cable gives me better radio reception than the antenna . Antenna is just a cool aesthetic

Aux cable works great and then it’s a quick jump to just connecting it to the phone and finding what you want way quicker and cleaner on spotify.
