I decided to make an album entirely out of samples from the FM radio tuner

Well, almost entirely. I spruced them up with some synth parts (also OP-1) and added drums from random sample packs. This was all made on the Octatrack and played live into the DAW.

I tried to avoid anything that seemed too distinctive about the source material, so a lot of the snippets were taken from between verses, or even between lyrics. Much of it is still clearly identifiable, and I’m okay with that. I don’t listen to a lot of radio normally, so I didn’t know what I was sampling most of the time. If I heard something I liked, I had to hope that it would come around again, and anticipate when it would happen so I could capture it. I later learned the sources of some of the samples, and they actually fit thematically in a strange way. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I hope you enjoy it!

this is great! really good sense of sampling looping and rhythm. I like “emulator” a lot, reminds me of metroid series for some reason

I like the vibe a lot

Very nice!! Excellent use of gear.
Lovely music.

Really enjoying this, especially “ashley”
